Decisions, decisions...
So I was sure I wanted to do the Dollar and a half cardigan for the cable KAL, but now I'm not sure. I've been tempted by Mariah. I am in love with Mariah, and she is totally tempting me from every other project. But I'm totally not finding a yarn I like for it. It needs to be soft, and washable so I can wear it a lot, and a smooth wool or wool blend to show off the cables. And, for whatever reason, I need it to be green. Like, real bright green. Not granny apple green, nor olive green, but a harmonious in between. Very odd as I don't wear green, but for some reason I need it to be a bright, cheerful, not-too-yellow green. Ideas? Recommendations? HELP!

Cascade 220 Superwash in color 802 is a nice Kermit the Frog green. :) It's not extremely soft like a merino but should be soft enough for a jacket and shows cables nicely.
I saw Berroco's Pure Merino at the WEBS booth at Stitches East, and it is beautiful, soft yarn. It would be great for cabling because that kind of twist (as in Filatura di Crosa's Zara) has good stitch definition. The page for this yarn at WEBS shows a nice green (cilantro):

I plan to use this yarn someday (I'll start my Zara project shortly). And another person in one of my Stitches classes used it for a slip stitch pattern that was just lovely. The Berroco yarn uses larger needles than Zara, which is why I'm suggesting it instead.
I see I've been beaten to the punch on Cascade 220 Superwash. It's fairly soft, not too expensive, and comes in a zillion colors.
I too was thinking Cascade220 superwash. It's my go-to yarn for superwash wool that won't be next to skin. It comes in some great earthy greens that are not too yellow and runs about $10 for a 220 yd skein. Here's a hat I did using 220 superwash.
